Windows xp desktop not working with u-verse speed

Hello,

The speed I get from U-verse with my Gateway desktop computer is around 2.80 Mbps instead of 12 Mbps, however, my laptop Windows 7 gets about 11..30 Mbps. Is Windows XP not compatible with U-verse or perhaps Windows XP cannot go faster.

Please advise.

It is not XP, it is your processor. What is the speed of your processor.

Thank you for your response. I believe the processor is Pentium (R) 4 CPU 1.80 GHz 768 MB of Ram.

Check with ATT U-verse support. Not knowing how you are connected, best I can do for now.
