Hi,

I recently bough parts for a new server and I'm just wondering what you guys think of the ram + motherboard, are they compatible?

Neither kingstons or asus compatibility page list them as compatible but I hear that's just rams that are actually test, not all that work.

I can add that asus list some similar rams (EEC, CL9), only difference it's 2GB.
I really hope it works since I got them for practically nothing (they just went off the market it seems)

Motherboard: ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO 785G AM3 M-ATX
RAM: DIMM DDR3 4GB 1066MHZ CL7 (KVR1066D3Q8R7S/4G)

Best Regards
Nicklas

I can add that the ram is Registered and I think it's buffered aswell, could this be a problem?

The ASUS 785G motherboard does support DDR3 so you should have no problems making it work. The 780G motherboard by ASUS does not have DDR3 support but you don't need to worry about that.

Yeah, but since the ram is both buffered as well as registered it won't work it seems :(
