Hey all, know with the advent of the 980X, ive been planning to build a computer that will be used to test shared memory parallel code using mpi. I wanted to know if the 980Xs have the QPIs so i can rig up two of them on a dual socket motherboard. Thus bringing me a total of 12 cores and 24 threads.
Thank you.

there is not a single I7 on this green earth that can be used in a dual cpu system what you are looking for is a dual socket 1366 intel xeon

Funny though, i read a while ago that they released a dual socket motherboard that is not compatible with Xeon processors.

Thank you for pointing that out. Would you happen to know which vendor sells the Xeon 5600's individually?
