With the cost of new I3 I5 & I7 Cpu's from intel and the run out of older legacy types I was expecting the costs of the Q9400 & Q9550 to drop but they are just as expensive. Is there any reason for this as if their prices stay high then teh newer chips look like bypassing them or am I missing something. Quite likely.

Solution
Its not gonna happen.

To get i3,i5, i7 you need a new mobo and most of us will need new ram.

They know as apps utilize more core people will upgrade, some will just want a quad core that their current motherboard can run ,others will go all out for new.

If you want a quad hop now, cause they aren't ever gonna come down.
