Hi everyone

I need some advise on an upgrade. My current specs are as follows:

- Asus P5Kc
- 4GB OCZ DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC
- Intel Q6600 Quad
- Corsair HX550W
- Asus nVidia 8800 GTS 320MB
- Samsung 22" TFT 1680 x 1050

I am in the UK, my budget no more than £140. I am thinking a 260 or a 5770, the latter for DX11 support, but also worried about loosing PhysX support - is that an issue? My current card actually copes OK at max settings on native resolution, suprisingly, I have no issues with Dirt2 or RE5 I am playing at the moment, but I think it is about time for an upgrade. Not planning on upgrading anything else at the moment.

Any advise appreciated, I know there are loads of these threads but eveyones specs are different.

Thanks!

You might as well get one with directx11 support if you're gonna get a new one, however they're a bit pricey at the moment.

If you're not gonna get something from the 5000 series, get either the GTS250 or the GTX260.

Hello and welcome to the forums :)
There are not a lot of games that benefit from DX11 currently but there will be soon, but for PhysX,it has an impact on few games with the cost of quite significant FPS loss though.
Both are good,i would go for HD 5770 though because it can handle every game fine on 1680x1050 and it runs cooler plus you get DX11,eyefinity etc

Thanks, actually I used to come here years ago but forgot my account details.

Anyway, I think I will go for a 5770, thanks for the advice!
