In reply to my PM, Fredi told that he doesn't care about bumping old threads.
Dear forum archeologists, don't worry about Fredi. Dig freely without worries and have fun!

If you continue, you will not be welcome here. Nobody wants the bumping here.

<font color=red>If your nose <b>RUNS</b>, and feet <b>SMELL</b>.
Then you must be born <b>UPSIDE DOWN</b>.</font color=red>
will you continue digging after what you have just heard from Fredi? Maybe i'll dig. But just a little. (thrice a month).

I will continue digging, but much less. I may follow your digging routine

I bet you the PM was so formal like:
"We at the POLLS forum have found a few recollections that were deemed exquisite for revival and to post in, as per the recent discussions. Our desire is to get your approval that this is an action of humility and does not deride us in any way. At this moment we have a few threads that have been taken from the archives and commented in, thus resulting in a revival of the thread. We only ask you to confirm this is an approve move, on behalf of our fellow members of the Tom's Hardware Guide Community."

So you have that right, fine. We also have the right to unite in hundreds and PM Fredi complaining, thus resulting in a democratic imbalance perhaps in consequence getting you banned.
Secondly, me and Fredi are quite close, as Canadians we stick togetha! So I'd watch what yer abusing ya little squid.

We are forgetting that Spitfire_x86 is one of the exclusive keepers of the Graphics card Buyers Guide. If Spitfire gets banned, than whose going to be up to the job? So far, the only one who made excessive use of archeology recently was rramjet when he bumped up a dozen of popgoldx's threads in the CPU forum. I think the good that Spitfire does outweighs his bad, and he should not be banned. However, it would definitely be preferable if he cuts down on his archealogical conquests.
My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!
We have KP, now we got CP0 Canadian Pride? damn man.

Err CP, not CP0.
Ooooo, btw, today I used my leatherman to make a really big hole in a desk. I was so happy!

LOL
Actually my PM was somewhat like this:-
"" I've created a forum archeology department in the polls forum and bumped some 1/2 year old polls. Some fourm members don't like this department and bumping old polls. I don't think it's bad. IMO, it's better than things people post in the "other" forum
Here's the forum archeology department thread<< link to the official forum archeology department thread >>. Please post your opinion there. "

Ah, so we now get to the real crux of the matter don't we?

i don't think bumping old threads in the polls section is that bad, since many computer users who needed help goes directly to the components sections and not the others section. The others section is mostly for fun and non-computer related things.
<font color=red>If your nose <b>RUNS</b>, and feet <b>SMELL</b>.
Then you must be born <b>UPSIDE DOWN</b>.</font color=red>
That's why i don't bump old threads in the component sections, especiallt the Video card and cpu section.
<font color=red>If your nose <b>RUNS</b>, and feet <b>SMELL</b>.
Then you must be born <b>UPSIDE DOWN</b>.</font color=red>
There are people here who posted very valuable POLLS such as the one asking if THG should add different CPU platform reviews. Digging up and ruining someone's intentions to gather information for this website's purpose, isn't a good thing.

Because the old Mrs Phillips is a story about exhuming bodies, and thus more relevant than anything the archeology dept has done.
