Need help on new i7 920 build

Hi. I will be building a x58 system and here are my proposed parts.
gaming at 1680x1050
system upgrade and i already have a haf 932 and optical and hdd drives

CPU: Intel Core i7 920
PSU: Corsair TX-850w
GPU: any 5850 (will be upgrading to fermi when it comes out)

here is where i'm really troubled.

Mobo: needs to have a lot of sata ports and alc889a sound

1. GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD5 = $270

- has usb 3.0 and sata 3
- has 10 ports (sata)

2. EVGA E758-A1 = $300

- has 9 sata ports
- has good pci-e layout
- cons: heatsink on the vrm may be a problem because i will be using a haf 932 with a corsair h50 cooler in a push pull fan config, so i doubt that the cooler will fit in because of the clearance of the heatsink, a help on this part will be extremely useful.

ram: G.SKILL PI Series 6GB F3-12800CL7T-6GBPI

users of the p6x58d of asus reported that their systems would do random reboots if the hdd drives are not plugged in at the sata 6 ports because the system is said to boot at the sata 6 ports first before the others, is this true?

i think the ram i listed is not on the supported list of rams by gigabyte, but i think it's just because there are too many rams to be tested and be written on the supported memory list. what do you think guys? will the gigabyte ud5(new version) support the ram i listed?

  1. Don't know your budget, but if money is no object, get the HD 5970. Or even 2 in CF. It looks like you have about $1500 US to spend, then I'd do it VERY different. For starters:

    i5 750
    P55 WITH USB 3 & SATA 6
    2X2GB DDR3 1333MHZ
HD 5850/5870 (still overkill for 1050 resolution)
    F3 500GB
    30GB SDD
    650W PSU
  2. i already have an atx case, hdd and optical drives.
