Hello, im wondering what the difference between corsair dominator and corsair xms memory is?

if they are both 2000 speed and (pc3 16000) then how is dominator a better memory?

sorry the dominator is actually 1600 (pc3 12800) but its more expensive too... so my question is which is faster? am i paying for the dominator name? Is the xms actually faster and cheaper? please help

Not much difference really since they are the same speed and cas.
The Dominators have better heat spreaders but that's about it.
They are also 52mm tall as opposed to the 33mm tall XMS.
Something to keep in mind when adding an aftermarket cpu cooler.

Yes of course ram height matters you might not be able to mount the cooler cuz the rams in the way.
This is only an issue when all dimms are filled.
If you have only 4gb it's not a problem.
I have an 1156 mobo with 8gb and all dimms filled.
And an aftermarket 160mm tower cooler.
