Branded Flash Drives

Hello. I just bought a 32GB TDK USB Flash Drive. At least that's what it says on the outside and on the packaging, which does look genuine. However, under AIDA64, it says it's a Generic Flash Disk USB Device. My friend's 16 Kingston Data Traveler is identified as a Kingston Data Traveler 102 USB Device both under AIDA64 and Windows Explorer Properties. Should I be worried? Do brand-name flash drive have identifying tags like the Media IDs for optical discs?

I would not worry, he has Kingston branded drivers but you have generic drivers that work just as well.

Not all branded USB drives will have custom names, many just use the generic. If you want to know without a doubt, you should try running a burn in test such as H2 to ensure the drive is a full 32GB capacity.
