New build complete with old graphics card...suggestions?

Hello all! For those that frequent the other forum categories, thank you for helping me to this point. My new computer will be complete when the PSU comes in by UPS tomorrow, and here's what I've bought

MSI 790GX-G65 (crossfire-ready, x8 / x8)
Phenom II x3 720 BE
4 GB (2x2) corsair xms3 1600 MHz
Coolermaster HAF 922
Coolermaster Hyper 212+
OCZ700SXS
Arctic Alumina thermal grease

I also got, as a gift:
Intel 80 GB x-25 G2 SSD

And had previously, from my last machine:
Hitachi DVD-ROM
Phillips DVD-RW
WD Raptor 80 GB 10K RPM HDD
EVGA GeForce 9800 GT
TV Tuner

My question:

If I were to get a graphics card in the next few months, I'd want something that I could crossfire in the future, and has direct x 11. However, I don't want to break the bank, or get something that will blow past any bottlenecks my system has. What would you recommend? I hope to overclock my system, and if I'm lucky, unlock the 4th core on that Phenom II x3

Also, is there some trick to making sure fan cables aren't in the way? Do I have to make sure they're not touching heatsinks and such in my build? Is there a tutorial with pictures, or advice from anyone with the HAF 922, for help with cable management?

Thanks!

HD5770 for $153

An HD5750 is another option if your resolution is on the low end.
Here's a great deal for an HD5850 if you don't consider $250 to be "breaking the bank"
