Will a Core 2 Duo Work?

So my friend is looking into upgrading his CPU but it looks like the motherboard wont support it even though its a 775 socket.

Its a Dell 0kf623 Motherboard.

Please let me know if it is possible to upgrade his Pentium 4 to a core 2 duo

no, the spec sheets says only Intel Pentium D and Intel Pentium 4 will fit.

if you really want to get a c2d, i recommended getting a new mobo

well a Pentium D is a dual core, do you think that will be enough? looking to play starcraft II on it
