720 psu
i5 cpu
2 gig ddr3 ram(Going to get a extra 2 gigs from a friend)

Uhm dont know how much, because prices here in south africa is a lot difrent from in uk or usa. But prob around R2000. That is $250 but for a card in usa that is $250 is in south africa around R3000.

To give you a rough idea the 4890 is around R2000 5770 is around R2100 and 4870 is around R1800.

Hope that gives you a good idea... But I want a gpu that will max out any game at 1280x1024

for that resolution(1280x1024) then HD 5770 is more than enough to max out any game... :)
you will survive for about 2-3 years with your current system...

You can buy 5770 for $160 and do great gaming at 1920x1200
It supports DirectX11
or
Go with 4890 for $200, performs better than 4890 but don't support DirectX 11

GOOD LUCK

And the 5750... That is much cheaper than the 5770? Will that also be able to max out any game at 1280x1024

not sure about that but i think it will...
5770 more last longer than 5750, we didn't know about the games in the future... :)

Can someone put these gpu"s in order of their performance not dx11 just performance...4850,9800gt,4870,5770,5750... And then which one of those will play all games on max settings...

Sorry and the 4890

U say core i5, so u mean the quad core i5 750?

or one of the new dual core i5s?

Also, if its the core i5 750, get the 4890. Significantly better than the 5750 or even the 5770.
It might not have DirectX 11 support, but so what, at 1280x1024, there will hardly be a difference, direct X 10 is good nough, i say.
Or save up some more then buy a ATI 5850 - more expensive, but u'll be set for at LEAST 3 years, 2 are GUARANTEED; it literally has 2 times the power of the 5770 or 4890.

Or Wait a couple months till March, see if NVIDIA releases anything worthwhile with their Fermi GPU's.

gd luck.

9800 GT being least powerful.
4850
5750
5770
4870 most powerful.

max settings... with ALMOST ANY game... 4870.

however, it wont be future-proof. It'll last a year or so, beyond that, might start to get old.

Which is why i advise a 5850; it'll last for years, and even then, if u wanna upgrade, buy another 5850, two of them will still be extremely powerful in 2 years.

LMAO!!! u have no idea how much i feel u, bro...

in that case, the 4870, 4890 or the 5770.

the 5770 is exactly the same as the 4870, though it has a 128 bit bus, while the 4870 has a 256 bit bus, so the 4870 is slightly more powerful. the 4890 is and Overclocked 4870.

its 4870 or 4890 with raw GPU power VS. DirectX 11, 3 monitors and electric power savings with the 5770.

Your choice..

Gd luck.

Have a read here, mate:

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/Radeon_HD_5750_i...

At the resolution of choice, the HD4870 is more than enough-mine ran at 1920x1200 well enough!
If you want to save a little power, and keep the noise down, the HD5750 is also more than enough at that resolution.
Even with AA enabled, the lower resolution will compensate for the 57xx cards only having a 128 bit memory bus, it is at these lower resolutions where the strong core makes the real difference, rather than memory bandwidth.
