Hello everybody

I have a question regarding my Phenom II X4 955BE :-

I just bought M5A99FX PRO R2.0 after I had 780GM and I didn't pay attention to the voltage settings as I thought it will be stock voltage so it won't overheat .

but I noticed in Asus Sensor that the temperature Going to 65 C and my ambient is 30 C , I made it default settings but it still
manages to get to the 66 C , After that I noticed that the voltage is 1.512V which is more than my older mobo so I reduced it to 1.404V and left it @3.7GHZ , and the temp was 61 C and hardly increased above that. so much better

I thought that it will lower the voltage since it's a much better mobo but the heating is worse.

My spec :-
Phenom II X4 955BE C3 @3.7GHZ @1.404V
HD 6850 Toxic 1GB @ 850Mhz core and 1100Mhz for Memory
G.skill Ripjaw 8GBx1 @ 1600Mhz @ 1.5 Volt
CPU Cooler : Thermal Take contac 30
Chassis: Thermaltake V3

I used battlefield 3 for the temp and sometimes Prime95

So guys what voltage , best low Voltage I can run my 955BE at 3.7GHZ ? I saw some got it at 1.37V and some at 1.4V

i would think it should be good around 1.35-1.37V with LLC

"Best voltage" will be something you will have to find on your own...I would say between 1.37v-1.39v would be a good start....Like nna2 said you may be able to get it down to 1.35v if your board doesn't have to much of a vdroop and use LLC with the proper setting

Looks like the board had auto overclock feature, leaving it to auto will O.C the chip. (like usual crazy voltage up :(  )

for my 3.8 Ghz I'm run at 1.347 - 1.362.. (It set to auto in my gigabyte mobo)

Going to 1.35 -1.37 is a good bet as the other said..

after my trails with the voltages from : 1.4 to 1.287

There was 3 Degrees between 1.4 and 1.35 and no difference between 1.35 and 1.287 , I removed and the cpu installed it again so I can tell which voltage was stock and it was 1.35

since I still manages to get to 66C , so it's my cooling probelm , contac 29 wasn't enough it seems but I installed another 3000rpm cooler master fan to the other side of the cooler and it's solved I Reach 57 C after 2 hours of battlefield which is alot better , so thanks everybody it's solved
