I read over a lot of stuff on the site about the 5770 and the 5750 video cards, and have some idea as to the differences between the two, but I cannot determine is if there are any signficant short comings with the 5750 that would justify buying the 5770. (I was given the suggestion to buy a 4870, but they don't seem to be sold in my area).

I am looking for a video card to play GTA IV, but I am hoping for one that is quiet as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you can afford it I'd recommend the HD5770 for 1680x1050 as well. It will definitely make a difference. Here's their relative performance at various resolutions(along with other common cards);
