Hello people, here's the thing. After doing a little research I decided to buy an Ati 4670 for my second PC to play LAN games, It has the following settings, intel e5200, 2GB DDR2 800MHz, 19inch LCD monitor. The thing is there are ddr2 and dd3 versions of the card, and 512m and 1g versions.. is it worth to pay 20$ more for 1g ddr3.. cause i need to buy a new PSU, ati support says i need a 400w and i have a 235w psu. Thanks in advance! i'll wait for your replies

Solution
The memory amount doesn't matter at least as long as it's 512MB, type really matters, get (G)DDR3.
So get the cheapest (G)DDR3 card.

That psu is too weak for a 4670. You'll need to upgrade to at least a 350w psu.

thanks for replying! so yo say ddr3, and is it a difference in performance between 512 and 1g ddr3? because i read somewhere that the gpu isn't fast enough to handle all that ram, is that true? sorry for my ignorance but i'm kind of a newbie on this subject

Definitely GDDR3. However, if you do buy a new PSU do you still want to stay in the 4670 price range?--or move up since you would have the power?

A corsair 400cx ($39 after MIR) or Antec 380 earthwatts($38) would be good choices for your build. A 4670 really only needs about a 300w psu--so i would get the smallest quality brand one you can get. Quality brands include corsair, antec, seasonic, ocz. I have the 400cx and its great--completely quiet, cool, energy efficient etc.
