A little confused about CPU temps.

Hello, I had some questions about CPU temperatures in my case. When I idle my core temps are 33,28,32,27 but my CPU temp is 30 celsius. When I start prime95 to check temperature readings my core temps go to like 77, 76, 74, 74 MAX. But my cpu temp stays to like 50-60Celsius under load. I was wondering if this was normal or is their something wrong with the way i sat the heatsink on my mobo. BTW no overclock and using stock cooler (I know it sucks I'm getting hyper 212+ heatsink).

The new intels tend to run hot. 60*C for load is good.

Anything ≥70˚C for normal load is good. 60s are perfect.

For Prime, my limit would be 79˚C. So, you're still in the comfort zone.

I would still agree with the ferret(?) and try to reseat the heatsink or rethink the airflow situation if it gets worse.

Cheers.

xD nice.

My level of appreciation for ferrets has gone up about 31.41592654%. :p

BTW, I heard somewhere that the max recommended by intel is 72C, so reseating the HSF would be a good idea, although I've had chips go to 95C before. :(
