Memory lost

Hello to all,

I'm having problem with the disappearing memory on my system and I'm not a tech savvy. I currently have 3 identical pieces of 2GB DDR3 RAM installed on my DH55TC board and I'm currently using the on board video card. On BIOS, I see 6GB of RAM but on windows (on my computer's properties) it says 6.00 GB (3.18 GB Usable). That left me wondering what happened to the other memory.

Can someone please explain whats the problem here?

Are you using Windows 32-bit? Because if so, it will only address up to 4 GB of memory for the whole system.

Note that your H55 motherboard should be running dual channel, 2x2, 2x4, 4x2 or 4x4 GB of memory, not in triplets. Not much of an issue though.
