I simply can't look up the interface data besides that it can use sata-150. Anyone who should know if I'm able to use a SSD harddrive with sata-600 or at least sata-300 ?

Compatible: It should be. SATA I, II, and III are, in theory, compatible. There have been problems running faster versions on SATA I controllers, which may not be fully forward-compatible.

Useful: If your interfaces are SATA I, you would get a bigger boost by buying a new rig with SATA II or III ports. Or installing an SATA III controller card. Stand by, I'm going to try to look up your specs... Can't find them.

So my answer is a resounding maybe

Thanks for the reply.

Well ... I bought my portable PC ½ a year ago (3 y.o.) so this won't change for some time. It's a 2K USD PC from new around here and it is with a dual CPU 1.85 GHz.

I understand that all SATA are compatible but the slow interface gives the final speed - right ?

Theoretically, Yes. a system will only be as fast as its slowest component.
