Im looking to put a new build together here shortly...month to 2 months. I am going back to AMD from Intel. The board I want to pick up is the ASUS Crosshair IV board. I am going to pair it up with an AMD Phenom X4 955 BE. I was wondering if this board is a good pick up or not...as I have seen a roughly 50/50 split over people having no probs with versus people having nothing but probs with it(IE: DOA, Not compatible with QVL'ed RAM, etc...).

My Current setup:
-----------------------------
intel core2 quad q6600
msi p45 platinum
2x250g wd be hdd raid0
500g seagate barracuda 7200.11(storage drive)
2x xfx radeon 4890 xfire 8/8
8g ddr2 800mhz ocz gold ram

I will be retaining the keeping the HDD's, and the vid cards. Also I plan on over clocking the system.
Here is the ram I plan on using..... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104129
Does this look like a good build? Any responce would help. Thnx

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

1- That is a very good mobo but if u want take a look of other options currently I have the Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 with a X4 955.
2- Get this G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 are much better with a fewer price.
3- If u want OC I think that u need a cooler some goods are the Hyper 212+, Titan Fenrir, Megahalems and NH-D14.

P.D. The Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 has the RAM slot very near to the CPU socket and that can be a problem i u want install a cooler with dual fan setup.

IMO is a solid build plus the Crossfire is very good.
