So i am planning on overclocking my AMD FX 8120 Black Edition to about 3.9ghz.
Just wondering what sort of cooler would be needed to keep it running cool?

I was planning on going for the Hyper 212 Evo, but its really cheap and I'm sure if it will do the job.

Thanks for any help

I think the 212 Evo should be just fine for 3.9.

I honestly don't know what the max OC for a 8120 with a 212 Evo is, but I'm pretty sure it can handle 3.9. That's not a terribly aggressive OC.

The 8120 has a stock speed of 3.1 ghz and to go to 3.9 ghz you could almost do that with the stock cooler. If your inexperienced with overclocking then I can understand the small overclock. It would be a nice start for you to get your feet wet and gain experience. I would still get the 212 Evo any way because once you see how easy that cpu overclocks you will be tempted to go further and you'll need the better cooler.
