CPU upgrade

Hello,
I will be upgrading an amd 3500+ 939 with an amd 4400+ cpu. My question is...Can I use the same heatsink and fan? I could not find this information anywhere. I assume the cips are the same thickness.

If both chips are the same socket type then I would have thought you would be able to re-use your heatsink and fan unit. Don't forget to clean off any residue from the thermal paste that was on there before and re-apply a fresh layer.

The heatsink will fit...

I think AMD used the same unit up to @ 4400+ after that they went to a heatpipe version. May run hot and get loud if stressing the cpu.
