Ati 4850

Ok so my graphics card likes to crash with some games. In this case it is DDO online. It will load and i will see the game cursor for 1 sec. before it crashes.

Its gives me an "Input Not supported error". And i KNOW its the video card tried several monitors. The only clues i have is it will play some game fine and not others. Almost like it doesn't like rendering certain things.

I looked under event viewer and at the time of the crash i get several errors.

Ill list a few.

There are about 10 other crashes within 2secs of those. Any hints/tips would be great. Also i have the refreshrate set to 60hz since im running 1920x1080.

More about 4850
  1. Have you tried installing older drivers or the newest one (9.12)? For my 4890, I had texture problems with the 9.9 and 9.10 drivers, but reverting back to 9.7 helped fix it. I'm currently using the 9.12 drivers and I have had no problems so far.

    try as kokin said...
and what connection did u use to connect? VGA? DVI?
  3. OK ill try. I'm running a Radeon 4850 connect by hdmi through dvi to hdmi converter.
  4. I tried 9.9 didn't help. It seems as soon as it renders a model it crashes. Yet i can still play Cod 2 for hours....
  5. umm, did u connect the power connector?
Have u try the driver that came with the CD?
  6. Is it overclocked?
  7. No not overclocked but its working fine currently. Thanks all for suggestions.
