Cd drive

cd drive indicates "please insert a writable cd in the drive" I already have a writable cd in the drive?

Can you try another/different type of writable CD? Could also be a bad drive.

I have the same problem with my cd/dvd drive. I have tried different types of cds/dvds and the problem remains the same. Do you have any other solutions other than my dirve might be bad? I have two computers and the laptop had this problem as well. But, I found out that both my computers were sending out invitations to remotely control it and when I took that off I also gave it a good scan and that worked. But, not for my desktop.
