Monitor distortion after changing settings

I connected my plasma tv to the DVI in my Display adaptor-Radeon x300. I then went to display properties-Setting-Displays-FPD then chose the troubleshoot tab and checked the box (don't ask why) the box that says (Force 1080i for DVI display) the moniter flickered, blackout and came back with distorted fonts and pictures. what happened? I could not undo the distortion. I connected this moniter to another computer and it was ok. So is the problem the display card? Please help

Did you try the system restore option?

Sorry, before you try system restore, try uninstalling the card's drivers and reinstalling them.

I did several changes to the display settings., It worked. so than you guys
