PVR RECOMMENDATION

I have an ATI TV-Wonder card Very nice.

Replay TV units can also record (Without an attached computer) then
transfer to the computer later for watching whenever/wherever (Assuming
the computer is portable) For example... My RTV (Replay TV) at home
recorded an episode of Walker... Which I just finished watching here at
work (The kind of work I do allows me to watch TV, don't pay much but
then I don't do much, thankfully I'm dual income)

To transfer from the Replay to the laptop I use a program called DVArchive.

Of course, the desktop at home also records shows with the TV-Wonder
card. and can transfer to the laptop

Replays, at standard quality or the ATI at "Longer" use about one gig
per hour. Less than that tends to pixelate too much for my tastes
but the ATI card has at least one setting that is lower quality/usage
(about 1/2 gig per hour)

I have never seen either of the cards you mention, though I have heard
of win-tv of course (Software comes with my version of windows)

I have used several such (video digitizer) cards (including AVermedia)
in the past, and have has more software problems (including crashes)
with all of them. This was only with DOS-based Windows, since I found
the Replay much better before changing to NT-based Windows (2000).
