More about good chip overclocking
  1. so .. good for OC
    AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz
or Deneb 965BE 129$ in newegg
  2. I've looked at the 8120. I don't really need all those 8 cores.
How about the 960t. I hear you can unlock it to 6 cores.
  3. it's good for OC too . as long as in your budget, also you get lucky that chip can unlock to X6 the perform close 1090T, but need mobo 140W TDP
  4. How about a newer cpu that will not be discontinued down 3 to 6 months down the road when I get the money to build the pc.
  5. discontinue not mean lost in the market, isn't ? it even more affordable price, as long as they use the same RAM DRR3 I think it's still worth for next 2 years. and when you build the existing fitting newer CPUs are cheaper and tougher so grab the latest to, and in 6 months for the CPU was still range more than $ 200 .. still expensive because NEW
  6. oh thats nice to know. If I decided not to overclock how would one of the new ivy bridge i3s compare to an overclocked amd cpu.
  7. non one know that perform ...
  8. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116775
This is the i3 3220 on newegg. It is strange that intel didnt make any big announcements when they released this. Or maybe newegg jumped the gun.
  9. cheap and still no review :D .. that is low market not highend i5 & i7 ... maybe you want look this liltte review http://wccftech.com/intel-ivy-bridge-dual-core-es-benchmarked/
  10. How does the fx 6100 look for overclocking. The 6 cores is nice because I will do some gaming and some 3d rendering and video editing/rendering.
  11. assumed ivy i3 = i3 2100 if seen comparisons
for gaming: i3 2100 wins to render: fx 6100 wins ( the fx6100 render same 975BE ) but at gaming is bad
  12. I think I'll get the fx 6100. I would probably be doing a lot of rendering, more so than gaming. I would still do plenty of gaming. It should be fine with my hd 7850, it shouldn't bottleneck it.
  13. with liltte overclock no botleneck for multitasking
  14. You should honestly instead just look around on this and other forums for a used 2500k, you should be able to get one in your price range. It's much better than buying a new lower bin CPU. They sell used from 150 up ish
