AMD Phenom ii x4 965 problem

Specs:

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965

Memory (RAM): 4.00 GB 7.5

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5500

Ok so I bought the x4 just a few days ago and when im playing games it is nearly the same as my old cpu. (Phenom ii x2) I have a low FPS (Frame Per Second) between 20-30, with my old one it is the same. Im not sure what to do im about to re install my Windows 7. Im also thinking of overclocking but not sure if my cpu would handle it.

I think your graphics card is the bottleneck.

Depending on the game your X4 should run about the same as the X2 unless it is a game that uses multiple threads. If you want a drastic increase in frames per second you should be looking at GPUs.
