I have a Compaq presario SR5710Y. Im going to get a better PSU because its only 250W. I also have 3GB of ram. I was just wondering if the HIS H487Q1GH Radeon HD 4870 is compatible with my computer and if its a good choice for modern games. In case your all wondering i have a PCI-E slot.

In some games the processor will bottleneck the card especially if it's one of the slower x2s but it's still a decent buy probably.
The HD5770 is usually a better buy these days though. DX11, very power efficient, and usually cheaper.

Which processor specifically? a 6400+ should be alright, but if you have a 3200+ you might be in trouble.

4850 just more than enough for that resolution...
and maybe u want to consider HD 5770 as well...
