Core2duo supported motherboard

Hello,
I have a 2.5 yr old computer with pentium 4 processor. is new i-series processor compatible with that motherboard?

    No its not p4 and i series are completely different
  2. If you want an upgrade of your cpu, you must buy a LGA775 cpu.

    Anyway, be sure that the choosen micro is supported by your mobo.
  3. If you post your mobo model, we can look it up and let you know what's possible and whats not. The iX is not though as it uses a completely different socket.

    No, defiantly not.
    In fact, if your computer was a pre-built (Dell, HP, eMachines, etc.), it is doubtful that it will accept any newer CPU.
    You would probably be much better off spending $300ish on a new motherboard, CPU and RAM.
  6. It could be a 775 P4, more info. on machine or motherboard .
