Hey so I upgraded my CPU to a AMD Phenom II x4 965 (125w) I had previously upgraded the bios to support this CPU.

The spec are as follows

AMD Phenom II 965 X4 cpu
8gb ddr2 non-ecc unbuffered memory
Asus EAH4850 (ATI)512mb graphics
Asrock K10N78 m/b
500gb sata 7,200 16mb cache hdd
12V 450 watts PSU
running Windows 7 64bit RTM (7600)

I am now experiencing occasional blue screens, shutdowns and reboots, whilst doing things that involve using the CPU.

I have looked at the event viewer and I see I have had 4 Kernel Power critical events

Solution
New power supply may be in order those Phenom II x4s draw a good bit of power and if the processor is not getting clean power you will get errors and BSOD.

Just to update you guys.

I got a 600 watt winpower psu, it worked fine for half an hour before stopping working, it had blown, and with it it took the motherboard. I have replaced the psu with a corsair tx 650watt, and replaced the motherboard with an Asus something or other pro... Not sure why the new psu damaged the board, but hey ho lesson learned is that it is not wise to scrimp on a psu if you haven't on the rest of the rig.

Thanks again.
