Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Should work together just I think that the voltage is a little high for DDR3.

It may work but it may damage your CPU.
The max safe voltage for i5/i7 CPUs is 1.65v

I forgot to mention i3,actually all Core i CPUs support max 1.65v of RAM,anything more than that is dangerous and not recommended because it may harm on of your components

so I should look after ram or cpu voltage?

Looks for a RAM which has 1.65v or lower voltage.

^+1 1.65V is usual, but some RAM comes with 1.35V that is very good.

I'll just down clock ram voltages to 1.5v & it'll run @ 1333mhz with lower CL.

Good, that save u a little power.

Well sometimes lowering the voltages may make your system unstable.Especially when the gap is large(2.0 to 1.5v),but if you already have the RAM,then go try it.
