Will any 4850 work with another 4850?

I have the option to use 2 4850s in crossfire, does the brand matter? What if they have different memory buffers?

Nope not at all. Any brand will work. The only thing would be if you have a 1GB card and a 512MB card, the 1GB card would only use 512MB because they have to be identical, but that isn't a big issue.
