Does Xeon processors support Gpu acceleration ?
Mar 26, 2010, 1:53 PM
hi , i work for a small architecture company and we went to boost our performance
i looked up the renderstream site and there systems were interesting dispite the price ..
i went to a site one day and someone had the same model as ours .. Xeon X5355
he had a card with cuda cores in them .. , a quadro fx 5800
is it possible that our Xeon models recognise Gpu acceleration .
or we really need to update our systems with i7 processors

does xeon processors support acceleration

GPU acceleration isn't CPU specific although a decent CPU is required and yours is.
CUDA is nVidia technology and is kicked in using the driver and compatible applications and ATI doesn't support it, they are focusing on Stream, Brook+ and OpenCL.
