Desktop configuration for performance

Hi,
I want to build a desktop computer this week. I don't play games but I need high performance because I run several statistical software at the same time analyzing tons of data and equations, and my time is scarce that I don't want to wait for hours to get results. My money is scarce too, so I'm looking for a system with high performance and low cost at around $1000.

Below is what I configured. I'm not sure if these components will work well altogether without any conflicts, or if there is some important component missing. Any ideas, suggestions and warnings are welcome.

More about : desktop configuration performance

First thing, do not spend $70 on a keyboard, even if it comes with a mouse, I don't think it is worth it even if you're playing games. Another thing is a 965 is just a 955 overclocked by .2ghz, so you can just buy a 955 save $30 and oc it so it can be a 965. In your budget as you are not getting any of those expensive video cards you might be able to fit a i5. And another thing what about a 30gb sdd + a 7,200 500gb instead of a 300gb 10,000?

OK, let's forget about the wireless desktop for $70 thing. It wasn't a good idea anyway.

About overclocking 955 to 965, I'm not sure if it would be safe, or if I should add some more fans inside the case, but then it will increase the cost. I just cannot afford a permanent damage to the processor. Is it easy to oc? I've never done that before.

I can buy Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor for $200, but then newegg doesn't have any i5 LGA 1156 motherboard which has video on board. Separate video card with the cheapest appropriate motherboard is more expensive than I expected.

It is a very good idea to do 32gb sdd + 500gb 7200 instead of a 300gb 10000. How about the following config?

$150 - Corsair Extreme Series CMFSSD-32D1 2.5" 32GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) - Retail 220Mb/s read, 135Mb/s write
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

$55 - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Question 1: Windows 7 requires only 20gb, and with all other stuff it needs, it would perfectly fit in this 32gb sdd, right?

Question 2: I cannot compare the speeds of the above sdd and the 10000 rpm I chose previously. Is the sdd significantly faster than the 10000 rpm one?

Question 3: With the setting above, I'll have Windows on sdd and all other software on 7200 rpm. Would it cause any problems? Would if be more efficient than if everything was on the 10000 rpm?

Question 1: Yes, 32gb would be enough and the boot process would be faster
Question 2: SDD is the fastest way of storage now days
Question 3: Yes it would be more eficienty, sdd mainly for its price are normally just used as the boot drive, so its where you install the os, and then the 7200 is where you would save your files

Othwerise it looks good

Well, you can just create a new folder on the 7,200 hd, you don't need to move it, or for example you can place like a shortcut on music folder to the place where it's located in the 500gb hd.

sdd, is just to boot the system from, you would save your files on the 7,200 hd
