Nvidia or ATI?

For the high-spec games around and/or just general preference, which do you prefer to use?

first off this is flame bait so you are stupid for posting it, who made the card doesnt matter, its how it performs relative to the other cards out there.

now to answer your question, which one you should get depends on your needs, if you use programs that can make use of CUDA then nVidia is a better choice, if you have no budget concerns then a 5970 is the absolute best card at the moment. If you are on a tighter budget we need to know what cards you are considering because its not a question of brand, its a question of which one gives you better performance in that price range.
