Hypothetical question, do you need ram in your computer to access the bios and overclock? Thats all I want to do.

Without RAM's you PC wont boot. So you wont be able to reach the BIOS. So in that way you can say that RAM is necessary for BIOS!

You need RAM for the motherboard to boot, even though the BIOS is built into the motherboard. Strange but every part in a computer will rely on something else functioning for it to work. RAM is the major part of the Computer second to that the processor. lol

No RAM, your PC will not start POST. You will simply get a black screen and series of beeps signaling you that there is a memory error.
