IDE Drives

I am having problems booting my computer. It is asking for boot up disk and has never done this before. Been into settings and its in CD boot mode and wont let me in to get onto hard drive. Can anyone help so can get computer going again thanks

you could:
make sure all the power and data cables are properly connected.
check the bios if the hdd is set as the first boot drive.
test the hdd in another pc, try to access it.
