Hi,
Can anybody help me translate those numbers, looks like there is some hidden things behind 1211 kbps--> 151.4KB/sec translation.

kbps : kilo bit per sec ?
KB/sec: Kilo Bytes / sec ?
Byte = 8 bits?

am i right?

Your Results from http://www.digitallanding.com:
Download Speed: 1211 kbps (151.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 312 kbps (39 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency/Ping: 119 ms

Thanks
Dai

There is also the minor difference between raw bandwidth and usable bandwidth.

Best example is your LAN. You may notice that a 100mbps connection is 12.5MB/sec but typically caps out around 10-10.5MB/sec. The reason is there is overhead for the packets. The 12.5MB/sec is the total data transfered and the 10.5MB/sec is the actual data minus the packet overhead.

It's possible that your ISP will rate you as a 5mbps line and you consistently only show 4.8mbps on speed tests. More than likely, this would be because you're losing a bit of usable bandwidth to packet overhead.
