IP Address problems...

Please, Someone Help Me!!
I've been trying to install my wireless router to my Cable/Broadband modem, but for some reason, I'm having problems finding an IP Address. My friend may have messed with a setting and now when I hook up the router, my internet on the desktop does not work.

I've been at this for days and I desperately need internet on my laptop! Could someone please help me??

best thing i can say is to reset both the modem and router then make sure each physical connection is correct. sounds dumb but its commonly messed up

If problems persist, go to Start->Run, type "cmd" (no quotes), and hit enter. In the command window, type "ipconfig /all > temp.txt" (no quotes) and post the file's contents here.

Mobster1227: I have tried over and over to reset the modem, the router, and my desktop. It doesn't help.

Of course, this is without the router connected. I won't be able to get into the forums when it is connected. Ugh! So frustrating....
