Intel P67BG + 2500k + CM 212+ overclock help

I have the following setup intel P67BG + 2500k + CM 212plus and 8gb kingston ddr3 1333 value ram (dunno if rellavent)

My case is an Xpredator and it has overly sufficient airflow to OC.

I am using MSI afterburner to OC my PNY 660ti, but I have no idea how to overclock my CPU, is overclocking CPU mobo dependent, or can you just use any old program?

It's best to use the BIOS to overclock your CPU.

I wouldn't push too hard on that motherboard though. The VRM section doesn't look particularly robust. (There are at least some heatsinks there though.)
