Installing yamaha midi controller

I"m having trouble with a Yamaha KX8 midi controller that I want to configure to Windows 7. I got usb midi drivers of the web that should be appropriate, but installation of the CUBASE AI4 is a problem. The only error message that I get is that "SYNSOACC.DLL" is not found or not as expected. Anyone have an idea^

Did you get your drivers from http://www.yamahasynth.com/downloads/drivers_software/midi_controllers/kx/driver/ ?
Third party drivers are never a good idea.

If you did download the driver(s) from here, I assume there is a listing for the device in the Device Manager. If so, does the device show as having been properly installed?
