How much ram do you have? Also, is you hard drive near full or badly fragmented? if your drive is near full, try removing some files to make room for new ones. Also, try running the disk defragger. This will help consolidate any free space on the drive. If you turned your page file off, turn it back on and see if it makes a difference.

2GB ram with 1.3GB free, regularly defraged [once a weeek wheather or not it needs it] with around 50% free. Thank you anyway
