hi
i have asus p5nmx and i want to buy ATI hd5670 graphic card...
i want to know if my motherboard will support this card or i have to buy a new board for the same...
plzzzz reply...

PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible with 1.0,so you can use a 5670 on this board

Radeon HD5xxx series cards are rather picky in that they may not work in a PCIe 1.0-x16 slot. You may need PCIe 2.0-x16 slot.

There maybe some users which have problems with it, but i have seen lots of users having PCI-E 2.0 cards(HD 5xxx series) in PCI-E 1.0 slot

Thank you for clarification. I especially used the words 'may' and 'may not' in my sentences because I got the info that HD5xxx cards do not work in PCIe 1.0 slot from the forums over the internet and I was not sure.

You may need a bios update. Its also a good idea t clear the CMOS/reset bios by pulling the battery for a minute.
