Sata question

Hello, I just bought a set of dvd burners for my dell xps gen 5 and when they came they had sata connections and my xps gen 5 has ide connections bought i took the computer apart there is a spot for sata connections if i hook these up will it work

So you are saying that your motherboard has both SATA and IDE connections available?
If so, then hooking up the SATA DVD Burners to the SATA ports should work fine.

If your motherboard has SATA connections then connect a SATA data cable to the motherboard. In addition connect a SATA power cable to your power supply. The two connections are all it takes. It is easy to do.
