Hi there,

Recently I decided to build myself a secondary PC to use an HTPC and a fileserver. I got a tower from work that they were going to throw out, and bought 2 gigs (2 x 1 gig chips) of DDR ram to throw in it. Here are the RAM's specs:

Specifications

GOLD PIN 184PIN 6LAYER BRAND NEW MEMORY

Backward compatible Works with PC2100

Type: DDR

Capacity : 2 x 1GB

Speed : DDR 333Mhz PC2700

Configuration : 128 x 64

Density : HIGH DENSITY

Pins : 184Pin
ECC/Registered : No/No
Volt : 2.5V

CAS Latency : CL3

Unbuffered DIMM, 1 Bank, 16 Chip

My motherboard (Asrock k7vm2 r3.0), only recognises 512mb per bank in the bios. I haven't had a go at upgrading the bios yet, as that entails finding a floppy disk, but could anything else be the cause of this issue? Many thanks!

Hi.
Update the BIOS to the last version and the problem should be solved.
