Current bottleneck?

Hello all,

My current specs are as follows:
Asus M2NAM nForce 630a AM2+ mobo
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 3.1 ghz (Brisbane I think?)
4 gb 800 MHz ram running dual channel
XXX gf 8800 gt 512mb alpha dog

Basically, I run the computer mainly for audio production (Ableton Live) but I also run a few games (Crysis, Far Cry 2, Bioshock, etc). I'm looking at upgrading to a Phenom II x4 940 BE 3.0ghz. Ableton Live is supposedly quite good with multicores, but will I notice any other major bottlenecks? I run Windoes 7 and a Hackintosh setup. I'd like to get better performance overall. Will this processor help?

Yes. Just be sure your mobo supports it. Though for gaming a GPU upgrade would serve you better.
