Hey guys, I'm about to purchase a Phenom II x2 3.2ghz 555 Black Edition Callisto along with some G.SKILL 4GB ddr3 1333mhz ram, and I have about $120 Cdn dollars for a good AM3 Overclock able motherboard with good options and a simple BIOS interface.

I am planning to attempt to open some cores on this phenom or bump the speed a tad at least and I need a reliable mobo to go along with this idea.

Can you guys if you don't mind find me one on Newegg.ca for under that $120 price range?

This is what I was thinking about (MSI 880GM-E43 AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard) $84.99, it has great reviews, what do you guys think?

Ps. I have never Oc'd before but I hear it can be fairly easy even for newcomers using the phenoms and decent board

my cpu didnt need any cores unlocked, but the option is right there in the BIOS next to the overclocking stuff. also, the OC Genie works wonders. got my CPU from 3.0 to 3.4 ghz stable, and i got to 3.6 myself. i only have stock cooling though, so i dont keep the OC on. if you plan on OCing full time, id be sure to pick up an aftermarket cooler as well.

Will it take standard 1600 ? Cause it states it takes Oc'd 1600mhz ram, and I plan to get some G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) if not I may as well pick up some 1333 g.skill

Alright, I'm gonna go ahead and pick that up then, it was between your mobo(the MSI 870A G54) and the ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard which is the same price, both $109.99.

Quick change of heart, I will be purchasing online and picking up the products on monday, and they dont currently have your mobo in stock so i am going to take the ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 , from what i have read it is great also, and easy to oc and it has great tweaks like the MSI. Thanks for the responses.
