Do I need the crucial m4 firmware or not ?

  1. I believe the crucial m4 bug affected only the 60GB versions. Do you have a 60GB version?

    If not, don't bother.
  2. If you mean the latest 0309 update then yes; if you read the release notes it addresses a lock-up issue after 5180 hours or use.

    i tried to install it

    its just an ISO file

    it wont install
  4. ISO is basically an image of a CD. Burn it to a CD.

    BTW i was wrong - the crucial firmware update should be done regardless.
