C cbrunnem Distinguished Dec 19, 2010 3,331 0 20,960 Jan 19, 2012 #2 you would either need 3 hard drives to do this or make a partition big enough on your desktops hard drive. then just hook up your laptops hard drive to your desktop with a sata cord and a power cord. this program works well and is simple to follow http://www.apricorn.com/products/software/ezgig.html your clone will not work on your desktop as a copy of windows is tied to an individual motherboard. the cloned drive would work in your laptop though.
