Windows xp was working, now I get an error message
Aug 26, 2012, 11:37 PM
I let a friend borrow my pc, but now I get this error message when it tries to boot. "Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.. etc etc."
Then it reboots.
Anyone know of a fix? I heard something about my bootcfg file missing and to go into safe mode, but it wont even boot up. Please help

It definitely sounds like something was corrupted in your OS.
Do you have access to a Windows XP Installation CD?
Aug 28, 2012, 5:25 PM
No, I do not have access to that cd. It is a really old computer like 5-6 years. It was fast enough for the internet. It has even been through a housefire, I don't have the cd
